Day 30 – A letter to myself, tell me EVERYTHING I love about myself
Dear Kris, aka Em,
There’s so much I want to say!! I guess I gotta start somewhere….
I love how happy you are. I love that your smile is infectious and you can make (nearly) everyone smile along with you. It gladdens my heart when a day is brightened by something as simple as a smile. It may not be the “white-est” teeth smile or perfect by any means, but, it is a GOOD smile and what’s great is that you just don’t care. Smile big, smile strong and people will smile along with you. It gives me goosebumps.
I love how you share things with people. I love how open you are. Open minded, open to people, you have opened your soul. I love how you trust (even if it scares me sometimes, most people live up to that trust!)
I love that you a good mom, that you are recognized for some of your efforts with Kevin. I love that you are raising him the way you wish you had been raised. Firm yet understanding, strict yet permeable. There’s always room for second chances. I love that Courtney calls you mom, that made you so happy the first time she did it! I love the coffee mug she got you. It means so much to you!!
I love that you a good wife and getting better. Of course you are not perfect, but who would really want to be perfect. There is room to grow and learn and isn’t that the whole point of life? I love that you try your best to compliment and thank John for the things he does for you, around the house and just personally. I love that you try to express your thoughts and feelings even if they don’t always come out the way you mean them to. I love the magic that is between you and John and how it gets stronger every day.
I love how you can admit to your mistakes (most of the time) and I laugh that sometimes you have to google it to prove you are wrong. (Although this is often annoying to others at least you are consistent.) Google it is a household word and I especially love that! (I also love that you got people all around the world to mail you post cards / letters addressed to you in Google Kansas.)
I love that you have fun and can find fun in almost everything. Life without fun is boring. Sometimes your humor is a bit dark, but mostly it’s just fun.
I love that you are comfortable with who you are. You truly are amazing and it’s nice that you can be amazing and not be shy about it (and hopefully not overly conceited either!)
I love your energy. I love your goals to reach higher vibrations but know that you will forever be learning. I’m so proud of that fact that you learn something new. There is so much energy, so much thought, so much to learn, so much to experience. Energies are wonderful things! (Just don’t get addicted).
I love that you are learning to manage your anger. Awareness is the first key! Now you are working on Feeling, Acknowledging and Releasing. You are amazing! You can do this!
I love that you can still play. I love that you skipped through the Mall Parking lot with Kevin after shopping for Christmas Presents. I love that you can laugh and play with him and still be the mom. I love that you enjoy every moment of your son’s childhood, are proud of his moments of growth, but aren’t rushing him into adulthood. I love that even at the age of 10 1/2 you let him play and have fun and shirk “some” of his responsibilities depending on nice weather, time and ability of friends to play. It’s so important to be a kid because once you grow up, there’s no going back. I love that you can be silly and not be self-conscious about it.
I love how blunt you are. Some of your friends really appreciate it too! It’s so liberating to not have to lie or hint and hedge (*wink wink nudge nudge*) It’s so interesting that you blame Three’s Company for your bluntness. You watched that show and decided that if people spoke their minds, the stupid shit in life wouldn’t happen and guess what? You were right!!! It’s so much nice to let people know your thoughts and feelings, even at the risk of being hurt or disappointed. And honestly, you never have been too disappointed, have you? People like know where they stand with you.
I love that you were a damn good military wife. That is something you should always be proud of. You done good, lady!
I love how much you care. I love how you want to get involved and save the world and I even love how it breaks your heart that you cannot save the world and now it’s even worse that you cannot save anyone unless they want to be saved. I love how difficult it is for you to stand back and let things (lessons) happen and how your heart and soul cry out when someone just doesn’t “get it”. I love that you are now starting to recognize that you can’t do it for them and that you will still love them no matter what. I love that you are clearing the negativity and slowly removing people who refuse to even budge from their dark path to find a path for happiness, enlightenment and fulfillment. I love that you recognize that this path will take a lifetime if not more but that the important part is the journey and not the destination. We are all on our journeys. It’s great to meet people on different parts of their journey. I love how lives are touched and then we all move on. I love the ebb and flo of life.
I love how you don’t believe in coincidences and I love how you see synchronicities everywhere. I love that you have met others who see the same synchronicities and who have come into your life to help you recognize even more. I love the 11:11’s … which you’ve noted since a child, staying up late at night and seeing the 11:11 on the clock .. waiting to make a wish.. and then going to sleep..
I love your enthusiasm. You can so easily be excited about anything and everything. It seems to make things better for everyone because enthusiasm is contagious. It can change the entire world and the outlook of every day life. Find that little twist and jump on it and really LIVE. I really love how that is part of your daily life.
I love how naive and vulnerable you are. It’s amazing, how after 40 some years, you still maintain a sort of innocence. It’s delightfully refreshing.
I love that you are a perpetual percher. Perhaps this IS a sign you were a cat in your past life! *grin* either way, it’s funny!
I love that you love yoga. After all these years to finally have found something that is good for your body. It was about time you started caring for your body as much as your mind and your spirit. Finally you can work on becoming balanced and complete and continue on your path to enlightenment. (The journey). I love that you love the meditation and the practices and the possible out of body experiences that sometimes seem to tickle at the edge of the meditations.
I also love how you have gone “organic” as much as you can. It’s expensive, but you do your best. A little bit here and a little bit there. This is another way you are taking care of your body AND taking care of mother earth. Organic is so much more healthy than the other options and you really have been healthier these past few years. (I love how you work for Mother Earth News and Herb Companion and such for ideas and people to get help from as you make the journey to an organic lifestyle. While I’m at it, I Love that you love your job and your team!)
I love that you created a meditation room and that you use it. It’s a work in progress, but I’m so proud of you and what you’ve done with it so far.
I love your curiosity. Your insatiable curiosity. It does seem to make you nosy, but dammit, you just want to know everything!! Is that really such a bad thing? Curiosity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction always brought her back!! Your curiosity always reminded me of Doctor Who (Tom Baker). He was always such a curious one. Now it seems ALL the Doctors are curious ones.. otherwise, what would be the point of traveling the universe and meeting new lifeforms. Perhaps this is why this show has always called to you, this and so many other Doctor traits you seem to have. Hmm… Fascinating thought, eh? All you wanted to be when you were growing up was the Doctor. Perhaps you succeeded!! At least personality-wise. Now all you need is a TARDIS! *grin*
No matter what and if nothing else, I love you for being you!
Kris
PS You are AMAZING! There is no one else like you in the UNIVERSE!
In fact, I received the following from “The Universe”
If it’s not yet obvious to you, the real reason for this, and all seasons, is you, Kris. A more perfect child of the Universe has never lived. Until now, only celebrations cloaked in myth and mystery could hint at your divine heritage and sacred destiny. You are life’s prayer of becoming and its answer. The first light at the dawn of eternity, drawn from the ether, so that I might know my own depth, discover new heights, and revel in seas of blessed emotion.
A pioneer into illusion, an adventurer into the unknown, and a lifter of veils. Courageous, heroic, and exalted by legions in the unseen.
To give beyond reason, to care beyond hope, to love without limit; to reach, stretch, and dream, in spite of your fears. These are the hallmarks of divinity – traits of the immortal – your badges of honor. May you wear them with a pride as great as the immeasurable pride we feel for you.
Your light has illuminated darkened paths, your gaze has lifted broken spirits, and already your life has changed the course of history.
This is the time of year we celebrate Kris Bethea.
Bowing before Greatness,
The Universe
And
Not ever, not once, Kris, not since time began has there been someone who’s actually made the kind of choices you’ve consistently made, year after year, your whole life long, in spite of fleeting fears, lingering doubts and moments of despair. Yet now, for the countless multitudes waiting on the sidelines for their turn, there’s a path, an example to follow, and a light to show them the way.
Jolly good show,
The Universe
I love the TUT inspirational website, Notes from the Universe. I love sharing them too! :)

I cannot believe how many people didn’t do this blog, or bitched about it or called it lame. Rather sad, I think. It’s so important that we love our selves and people can’t even take one moment of one day to figure out what they DO love about themselves! No wonder this world is so shitty! People can’t even bother to love themselves let alone each other!! :(
Awesome Kris. Great post, loved it <3
